The Impedance Gradient: Gravity as Signal Refraction

Abstract

The Geometricists describe Gravity as the curvature of a four-dimensional manifold—a mathematical abstraction that lacks a physical mechanism. Signum Principia identifies Gravity as a Phase-Velocity Gradient. By treating the vacuum as a transmission line with a variable Impedance (\(Z_0\)), we demonstrate that gravity is the refractive force acting on a signal transient as it encounters a density change in the medium.

The Signal Refraction Principle

In any transmission medium, the speed of energy (\(v_p\)) is determined by the local impedance. For a signal propagating through the Lumen, the velocity is governed by the permeability (\(\mu_0\)) and permittivity (\(\epsilon_0\)):

If a "Mass" is a high-frequency Leading-Edge Transient (as established in our Fourier Audit), then it is subject to the refractive laws of the medium. When the phase components of \(Z_0\) shift—due to the proximity of other high-energy concentrations—the signal encounters a Propagation Delay.

Gravity as a Vector of Refraction

Just as a light wave bends when entering a denser medium (Snell's Law), the Slope of Energy that constitutes a particle will "tilt" toward the region of higher impedance.

The "Force" we call gravity is simply the Steering Vector caused by this imbalance in propagation speed across the width of the signal's waveform.

• Impedance Saturation: The \(Z_0\) becomes so high that the propagation velocity approaches zero relative to the observer.
• Matter Creation: The extreme compression of the signal's phase components at these nodes forces the "Lumen" to "latch" into stable standing waves—creating the atoms and particles that populate the galaxy.
