THE MATHEMATICS: Back-EMF & Inertial Resistance
The "Inherent Property" Fallacy
Legacy physics defines Inertia as an inherent property of matter that "just exists." Newton's first law tells us that an object at rest stays at rest, but it never explains the Hardware Mechanism that enforces the rule. The Geek's Guide looks at the motor: inertia is simply Back-EMF.
THE DECODER RULE: LENZ'S LAW OF THE SUBSTRATE
Matter is a localized energy vortex coupled to the Flux-Lattice. When you attempt to accelerate that vortex, you are changing the flux distribution in the local medium.
The Reality: Just as a motor produces a Counter-Electromotive Force (Back-EMF) to oppose the change in current, the Lumen produces a reactive counter-pressure to oppose the change in velocity. Inertia isn't "stuff"—it's the substrate's inductive kick.
The Inductive Resistance Equation
To a "Yorist," \(F = ma\) is a fundamental law. To an engineer, this is the equation for the pressure required to overcome the counter-force of a loaded inductor.
The Inertial Back-EMF:
\[ \epsilon_{\rm inertia} = -L_{\rm substrate} \frac{dv}{dt} \]Where \(L_{\rm substrate}\) is the local inductance of the Lumen and \(\frac{dv}{dt}\) is the acceleration (the rate of change of the energy displacement).
Notice the minus sign. It is the exact same minus sign found in Lenz's Law. The "Force" you feel when you push an object is the Resistance of the flux-lattice as it is forced to rearrange its local tension to accommodate the moving displacement.
Conclusion: The Universal Governor
Inertia is not a mystical quality of "matter." It is a real-time, mechanical counter-pressure generated by the Lumen. By treating the vacuum as a physical medium with inductive properties, the "laws of motion" stop being arbitrary rules and become the predictable outcomes of Back-EMF in a high-frequency circuit.
