Glossary of Physics and Resonant Relativity
A
- Absolute zero: The temperature at which all atomic and molecular motion stops (\(-273.15\)°C). Residual heat energy makes this impossible to achieve in practice.

- Admittance of free space (\(Y_0\)): A physical constant relating to the ability of free space to admit energy in time; it controls the propagation speed of EM waves. \[ Y = \frac{1}{Z_0} = \sqrt{\frac{\epsilon_0}{\mu_0}} \]
- Apparent: Indicates a state based on current observation where the true nature may differ. As opposed to "observable."

- Beta decay: Decay of a Neutron into a Proton and Electron (and antineutrino).
C
- Continuum: The structured field medium (formerly "vacuum") governed by \(\epsilon_0\) and \(\mu_0\). It supports coherence transmission and resists change.
- Causality noun [kaw-zal-i-tee] The Mechanical Chain in the Resonant Universe, Causality is the "Machine behind the Output." It is the continuous chain of physical pressure and reactive response within the Lumen. It is not an abstract law of "time," but the mechanical connectivity that ensures no event happens in isolation.
If a "Cause" occurs at Point A, the "Effect" at Point B is the direct result of a physical displacement traveling through the Flux Fog. Causality is the proof of a Contiguous Medium; without the rope of the Lattice, you could not pull the weight of the Effect. - Chirality: A property of objects that cannot be superimposed onto their mirror image (handedness).
- Chronitivity (\(\chi\)): The intrinsic "clock speed" of the vacuum lattice. It describes the coherent timing of coupled \(\epsilon_0\) and \(\mu_0\) variations.

I
- Characteristic Impedance Defines the ratio of electric to magnetic field amplitudes, maintained as a constant constraint to preserve field vector orthogonality across varying substrate potentials. \[ Z_0 = \sqrt{\frac{\mu_0}{\epsilon_0}} \]
- Ion: An atom or molecule with a net electrical charge due to the loss or gain of electrons.
- Isotopes: Forms of the same element with equal protons but different numbers of neutrons.
J
- Jerk: The third time derivative of spatial displacement (or the time rate of change of acceleration), denoted in field terms as: \[\frac{d^3E}{dt^3} \] In the Resonant Relativity model, a jerk event serves as the fundamental dynamic trigger that initiates a Wavelet. While constant velocity or steady acceleration maintains field equilibrium, an abrupt change in acceleration (a jerk) disrupts the local reactive balance of the $\epsilon_0\mu_0$ substrate. This forces the local characteristic impedance ($Z_0$) to transition kinetic energy into a propagating transverse electromagnetic disturbance.
N
- Near Field: The region within a half-wave of a source where energy is coupled to itself. Impedances here are complex and relate to phase shift.
- Neutrinos: Electrically neutral fermions with nearly zero rest mass.

- RR Model: The vacuum's compliance to charge separation. It defines the coherence capacity supporting phase-locked waveforms (mass emergence). Value: \(\chi_0 \approx 299,792,458\) m/s.
- Resonant Relativity (RR): A framework redefining gravity as an emergent property of energy flow regulated by permeability (\(\mu_0\)) and permittivity (\(\epsilon_0\)). It suggests energy density creates gradients that influence flow without requiring curved spacetime.
| Constant | Classical Role | RR Interpretation | Units |
|---|---|---|---|
| \(\mu_0\) | Magnetic production | Magnetic inertia / angular stiffness | H/m |
| \(\epsilon_0\) | Electric field support | Charge separation compliance | F/m |
| \(\chi_0\) | Speed of energy | Coherence permissivity | m/s |

V
- \(\mathcal{V}_0\) — The Energy Vacuum (Lumen Ground State) The asymptotic minimum state of the Lumen — the theoretical floor of energy density where \(\varepsilon_0\) and \(\mu_0\) approach their lowest physically meaningful values. \(\mathcal{V}_0\) is never truly achieved in practice (every real material outgasses energy above this floor) but serves as the absolute reference against which all local Lumen loading is measured. Gravity, gravitational waves, and all electromagnetic propagation live in \(\mathcal{V}_0\). The characteristic impedance \(Z_0 \approx 377\,\Omega\) is a property of \(\mathcal{V}_0\), not of matter.
- Depends on: Vacuum (asymptotic limit), Substrate (Lumen)
- Distinguished from: \(\mathcal{V}_m\) The instantaneous transition from a superposition of states to a single outcome upon interaction.
- \(\mathcal{V}_m\) — The Matter Vacuum (Standard Model Reference) The matter-referenced vacuum of the Standard Model — defined by the absence of particles, where \(m = 0\) is the ground state and the Higgs field sets the energy floor for mass generation. \(\mathcal{V}_m\) is the vacuum of particle physics: quantum field fluctuations, zero-point energy, and virtual particle pairs all live here. Matter loads the Lumen above \(\mathcal{V}_0\) — every dielectric reduces \(c\) below its free-space value — confirming that \(\mathcal{V}_m\) phenomena operate within \(\mathcal{V}_0\) but are not identical to it. Conflating the two has produced the patches of modern cosmology: Dark Energy, metric inflation, and gravitational singularities all appear when \(\mathcal{V}_0\) phenomena are described using \(\mathcal{V}_m\) tools.
- Depends on: \(\mathcal{V}_0\) (exists within it)
- Distinguished from: \(\mathcal{V}_0\)
