Reactance is the opposition to the flow of energy that results in energy storage rather than dissipation. In the Charge Continuum, this is the mechanical equivalent of Inertia.

Capacitive and Inductive Loading

The substrate acts as a complex circuit. Inductive Reactance (\(X_L\)) represents the lattice's resistance to changes in magnetic flux (the "weight" of the field), while Capacitive Reactance (\(X_C\)) represents the storage of electric potential.
